Privacy policy.
Your prescription and measurements are personal health information. Here is exactly what we collect, why, where it is kept and your choices. Last updated November 5, 2026.
Who is responsible
Leruso Eyewear Inc., 7131 Bathurst St, Unit 105, Thornhill, ON L4J 7Z1. Our privacy officer can be reached at lerusoeyewear@outlook.com or (905) 881-4123. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and treat health information with the care required by Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).
What we collect
- Order requests: name, email, phone, shipping address, the items you choose, and anything you write to us.
- Prescription and fitting: your prescription, pupil distance and fitting measurements. If you use our camera fitting tool and choose to send a photo, that photo.
- Insurance (only if you ask us to bill directly): insurer, plan, member and holder details.
- Appointments: the details you enter when booking an eye exam.
- Marketing: only if you tick the box to receive news and offers.
We do not collect card numbers on this site, and we use no advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
Your camera
The virtual try-on and the fitting tool run in your browser. Your live camera image is processed on your own device and is not uploaded. Only the measurements, and a photo if you choose to send one (or one needed to mark progressive fitting heights, which we tell you about first), are sent to us. Under 16? A parent or guardian must agree before the camera starts.
Why we use it
To make and fit your eyewear, process your order and payment, bill your insurer when you ask, contact you about your order or appointment, meet our professional record-keeping duties, and, only with your consent, send you news and offers. We never sell or rent your information.
Where it is kept and who helps us
Order, booking and fitting records are stored on our own secure computer at our Thornhill boutique. Some trusted service providers help us run the business and may store or process information outside Canada (for example in the United States), where it may be subject to local law:

How long we keep it
We keep prescription and order records as long as our professional regulations require, then delete them securely. Marketing consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time (every email has an unsubscribe link, or just reply “stop”).
- Ask us to delete information we don’t need to keep by law.
- If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
Security
We use encrypted connections, access limits and rate limits, and keep health information on systems only our staff can reach. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
